Because I was getting no where with my XC Ford Coupe I started to look for a car that I might be happy with as I was tired of not being able to get out and about and I needed transport for work. I was looking through eBay around mid May 2010 when I came across a 2000 model Ford Cougar. At the time I had no idea what it was but I liked the look of it. Then I went to You Tube and watched some Cougars in action.

After reading up on them and doing a little bit of research I started to look at the Limited edition Ford Cougar SW MY99 Eibach.

*Note: I am writing this little bit on the 20th March 2011. Would I have bought one of these Australian Ford Mercury Cougar Eibach's, let alone 2, had I read a bit more about them, in particular the cost and availability of replacement parts for the Australian Version of this car?

The answer is most likely not but once I got in and actually drove mine it became a whole different story. I love it and am finding by searching and more research that a number of aftermarket parts are available at a reasonable price from RockAuto.com in the USA and USA Ford Service Parts in Australia

Body parts may be a different story but if push comes to shove we can always buy another car or get a kit bit. More here

They only made 100 of these but as luck would have it I came across one in NSW and I bought it. In fact I finished up with two.

Note: I have seen various people and adds claiming that their car is a Cougar Eibach but if it doesn't have the body kit and the bigger wheels it isn't!

If you have been following my story you will see that I tend to make these spur of the moment decisions every now and then and this is really no different. I haven't seen one of these in the flesh so I don't even know if I can get in and out of it but I will worry about that when it arrives in a couple of weeks time. It is now the 20th May 2010.
