Another part of our business was supplying sound systems, lighting and stages for outdoor events. We would do a bit of cross hiring with the big jobs and get people from Perth to come down and help out.

I did all the paperwork and had to watch everyone else do the actual setting up so in that aspect we were one man short and had to pay someone to take up the slack. With all of the other businesses I could hold my own.

It was sometime around here that I started to drink heavily on a regular basis.

Sound, Stage, Lighting.
We would hire in the stage for a job like this but otherwise Miles Draper (below) could pretty much handle it.
We couldn't have done a whole lot without Miles as he could manage the Sound, Lights and the Staging. He was also good on the Mike and was great at Weddings, school disco's etc.
Above: Mandurah Crab Festival.
We also got to play a bit of music at some of the nicer homes in Mandurah.

Here I am at Rolly Taskers place on the Main Mandurah Canals.

Rolly Tasker was a well known Yachtsman and these were good shows to do as we got to eat, drink and generally be merry.

They also led to more shows in private homes as well as weddings etc.

Water Sports day at Mandurah.

We would set up the PA and more times than not I would get stuck with the mike. Note the Mullet.
